St Naile's Church, Kinawley. This church was built in the year 1876. The architect was William Hague Jr. It was dedicated on 19th February of that year. It was rededicated, after extensive renovations on 30th May 1976. Go Back.

St Naile's Church in the Parish of Kinawley, in the Diocese of Kilmore, was built between the years 1867-1876 near a site that was used for worship from the 6th century. It was rededicated on 4 August 2002. The church is dedicated to Saint Náile (alias Saint Natalis), a contemporary of Saint Colmcille..

The foundations of the present church in Kinawley (built on the 'Barrack Acre', thanks to the generosity of Edward Maguire) were sunk and work commenced around the feast of Saint Naile in 1874 and was solemnly dedicated by Bishop Nicholas Conaty on 19 February 1876.. St. Mary's, Swanlinbar was s 130 years old in 1958 and was in urgent.

The church can seat 600 people and it has a day chapel which can seat 60 people. In the year 2000, while Father Hannon was parish priest, a Prayer and Peace garden was developed in the church grounds to mark the Jubilee Year. Saint Patrick's Church, Killesher. There was a church at Killesher in 1837 which was known as the 'Crossroads' church.
