Lettuce, Manoa (55-60 days) Lactuca sativa. Considered to be a "semi-head" lettuce with a small heart that is crisp, tender and sweet and grows a compact 8" head. Good for small spaces and containers. The leaves are buttery and have a spectrum of light green to jade color. Manoa was developed in Hawaii and it is usually grown at low elevations.

Both UH Manoa and anuenue can be grown year round in Hawai'i, and the seeds are available at the UH Agricultural Diagnostic Service Center. True head lettuce and romaine prefer cool climates and grow best at higher elevations. UH Manoa and anuenue lettuce matures in 45 to 60 days, while true head lettuce and romaine varieties take 65 to 85 days.
