The Volkswagen Mk.5 Golf GTi Edition 30 and Pirelli were powered by 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines (code: BYD) that were members of Volkswagen's EA113 engine family. 51k. 222 Pirelli edition GTi's were sold in the UK but none of them were yellow. VW built 170 in this colour and this one was imported from Japan by a VAG specialist in England. The engine in the Pirelli edition is the same spec as the Edition 30 engine so a bit more poke than a standard GTi due to uprated fuel pump, bigger injectors and a K04.

Thankfully, the German manufacturer took the criticisms of the fourth-gen model on board and created one of the best hot hatches at the time, the Mk5 Golf GTI.

VW revealed a camouflaged version of the updated Golf GTI hatchback. We spotted different headlights and taillights, plus a larger screen inside. We expect this to arrive in the U.S. for the 2025.
