The Remington 1875 revolver is an improved version of the percussion Remington 1858 New Army, and was manufactured by Remington & Sons from 1875 to 1889. The Remington 1875 features a bored through cylinder to facilitate the usage of metallic cartridges, and like the 1858 can detach its cylinder at will. It was made as a competitor to the Colt.
