My husband loves a Thai whiskey called Hong Thong. Its widely available. A big bottle (750ml) was 205 baht. You can buy it at 7-11's. The bottle shop at Central World Mall on 7th floor is fantastic too. Yes, you are correct, no liquids in carry on luggage. 100ml rule applies.
